Robotics

The sector at a glance

Robotics is the design, manufacture, integration and servicing of programmable machines that sense, decide and physically act — industrial arms and cobots on factory floors, autonomous mobile robots in warehouses, surgical and medical systems, agricultural and field machines, and the emerging humanoid category. The market is layered: robot OEMs sell arms and platforms, component suppliers sell actuators, reducers, sensors and grippers, and systems integrators turn all of it into working production cells. Buyers are rarely 'robotics people' — they are manufacturing and operations executives, plant and continuous-improvement engineers, warehouse and fulfillment directors, hospital service-line leaders and growers, all buying against labor shortages, throughput ceilings, quality escapes and payback math rather than against technology for its own sake.
